There are many things mankind has been able to plan and predict. And yet, there’s one thing we have never actually managed to master completely: weather… As a bride to be, the weather on your wedding day can make or break the entire ambiance and it can really have a huge impact on all those months of hard work and planning.

And although you may not be able to “plan beautiful weather”, you can make sure you know what to do in case it unexpectedly rains on your outdoor wedding. Here are some things to keep in mind:

·         First and foremost, have a plan B. It doesn’t matter where your wedding is located – unless it isn’t an area where it rains really, really rarely, you will need to make sure you create a plan B, just in case the skies decide to open above your outdoor wedding. Here at Ma Maison, we will collect the rainwater from your wedding day and present it to you to in a sealed jar to add a little something special because as you know, it is good luck to have rain on your wedding day!

·         Your plan B is not about the location itself (e.g. moving inside in case it rains). It is about everything else. It is about the décor, about the food, about the music, about the photos and about all the other details – so think both “outdoor” and “indoor” when planning all of them.

·         Also, please keep in mind that a plan B can either mean moving in (if your venue can help you with this), or it can mean setting up a wedding tent to cover everyone. The second option might be better if you are not completely certain if it will rain, but still want to keep it on the safe side.
