Springtime is just around the corner and it has us excited for yummy springtime drinks…which makes us think about the fun that is: Signature Cocktails.

 

If you aren’t sure what a signature cocktail is here is the definition:

A signature cocktail is any unique or original drink that expresses the nature of the person or establishment creating it. Signature drinks often incorporate local ingredients and culture. They can be fashioned or designed to represent a theme or color.

 

Signature cocktails at weddings are all about bringing personality and love into your drink’s story. It’s a great way to represent yourselves, your couple, your story, or things that make you happy and smile.

So, let’s take a look at some ideas behind making the perfect signature drink for YOU on your special day!

1. Start with your story!

Signature cocktails are signature because they have never been named or created by YOU! When thinking about your drinks get inspired by your memories together, your favorite activities to do, or elements in your lives that connect the two of you. Once you have a story or a theme in place that you want to showcase, the rest of the signature drink creation is fun!

2. Pick your flavors!

Typically couples decide to do two separate cocktails: a his and hers. Whether you want to do one, two, three…etc. signature drinks, make sure to pick flavors that you love and that showcase your personality.

*a fun thing to also think about is the season you are getting married too. If you are getting married in the summer, a fun flavored margarita may be yummy. OR if you are getting married in the fall, maybe a sangria or rum punch. The options are endless and the creativity is limitless!

3. Name your signature drinks!

This is our favorite part. Naming the drink is so fun. There are so many options: You can start with your name and work from there, or maybe you want to name them after fun places you have traveled together. Numbers are fun too. If you want to highlight important dates, that could make for a fantastic signature name too. Thinking French 75…what about a Williams 2020…??

 

Something we love to see too is when couples have a cute sign created to showcase their signature cocktails. 

 

Many times we see beautiful calligraphy paired with sweet renderings (dogs are a favorite too!) and it makes the bar so much fun to visit!
