Lauren and Scott were introduced through mutual friends back in the spring of 2014. Once the two got talking that night, they could not stop. The following week, they met up for an actual first date. Since that date, Scott knew immediately that she was very special.

Two years later, Scott planned a family filled proposal. On the night of Wednesday, March 16th, 2016, Scott headed to Austin to visit Lauren and her family. Scott secretly had his family in Austin as well. Lauren, her parents, and Scott stopped into a nice restaurant for a drink. A photographer approached them and asked to take their picture. As they stood up for the photo, Scott got down on one knee and asked, “Will you marry me?” All of Scott’s family moved in to celebrate just moments after. Lauren was very surprised.

Lauren and Scott got right down to planning with less than a year before their wedding. Lauren chose ten bridesmaids, and Scott picked nine groomsmen. Looking for a wintery feel since the wedding was in February, Lauren selected ivory and blush as her main wedding colors. With a guest count of 200 guests, Lauren and Scott wanted the music to be just right. Plus, everyone can appreciate a good live band!

With an eight-month engagement, the wedding day had finally arrived! Family and friends sat at the Grove ceremony site and waited for Lauren to walk down the aisle. Lauren wore a strapless dress with a lacy sleeve cover that reflected the winter theme perfectly. After the “I Do’s,” guests transitioned to the Trellis for cocktail hour to enjoy some drinks and passed appetizers.

When the Great Hall opened up for the reception, guests saw the live band to the left with a head table of farmhouse tables going down the middle of the room. Rounds were zigzagged around for guests’ seats. After dinner had ended, everyone got up to show their moves on the dance floor.

The night came to a close with a sparkler exit outside the front doors of Ma Maison where the newlyweds jumped into their vintage getaway car. With a busy work and school schedule, Mr. and Mrs. Lauren and Scott Sherwood decided to postpone a honeymoon till the following summer where they will enjoy some fun in the sun in Costa Rica.
