Lauren and Matt met through a Southwestern University alumni event. The two both graduated from Southwestern, Lauren in 2011 and Matt in 2004. The two shared mutual friends and have been together since the moment they met!

While the couple as was at one of their favorite locations, Matt’s grandparents’ vacation home in Santa Fe, he got down on one knee and proposed. The two got right down to wedding planning and were engaged for a little over a year.  While navigating the wedding waters, Lauren learned this about planning and has this advice to offer, “Make yourself a Pinterest board & get your venue & wedding planner before doing anything else! I also found the Knot checklist very helpful once we got down to about six months from the wedding.”

For a January wedding, Lauren wanted a natural look with some hints of glam. Burgundy was her primary wedding color with touches of ivory and some greenery. Since the weather was pretty chilly, the ceremony took place under the enclosed Trellis.  Six bridesmaids and eight groomsmen stood by Lauren and Matt’s side as they were getting married. Once the ceremony had concluded, guests moved to the opposite side of the Trellis to enjoy goat cheese tartlets with cilantro pesto and bruschetta with walnut pesto, creamed brie, and a balsamic drizzle provided by Crave Catering.

Everyone gathered in the Great Hall for the reception. Farmhouse tables went down the middle of the room for the large wedding party. Once the buffet was closed, the party got started. Lauren was even able to get back in the DJ booth to play a song! A s’mores bar opened, and guests were able to make their own sweet treat.

A traditional sparkler exit was in place. The new Mr. and Mrs. Holley ran through and started their lives as a newly married couple. Two weeks after the wedding, the couple decided to take a mini moon in Santa Fe (remember that is their favorite location!) The following October, Lauren, and Matt will be traveling to Narava Springs in Costa Rica for their official honeymoon.
