While attending a one-year Master’s program in Fort Worth, Evan Colmenero and Victoria Nunez bonded over their love to help people. They both were applying for medical schools and four months into their relationship, they matched to different medical schools. Despite the distance dilemma, the two decided to continue their new relationship. 

On July 30th of 2015, Evan and Victoria were on vacation visiting Victoria’s father and step-mother. The pair decided to give parasailing a try, despite Evan’s fear of heights. After returning to the boat from being up high in the smiley faced balloon, Evan dropped to one knee and proposed to an unsuspecting Victoria. 

Both Evan, 29, and Victoria, 28, are medical students that will have graduated from medical school a week after their wedding. They will perform their medical residency in Waco, Texas. When the couple has some downtime, they enjoy playing video games, watching movies, cooking together as well as trying new restaurants. Evan and Victoria have three furry, four-legged roommates that keep the pair busy and entertained. 

While attending medical school, Victoria and Evan were able to spend their summers together. Their first summer dating, the two traveled to Evan’s Alma Mater in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The trip was memorable to the couple for it had been their first travel adventure they spent together. Another special memory the two share is when they took home a dog together. Ripley was added to the family of pups that Victoria already had at home. Peaches and Piper were happy to receive another puppy sibling.  

After nine months of wedding planning, Evan and Victoria were ready for their fiesta themed wedding! The two envisioned a whimsical wedding with bright colors. Red, pink, orange, yellow, and gold paper blooms were found at The Grove outdoor ceremony site to the varied colors of the seven bridesmaids dresses. 180 of the newly married couple’s guests enjoyed the fantastic fiesta themed dinner with tacos and danced to the great music at the reception in The Grand Hall at Ma Maison. 

A week after the new Mr. and Mrs. Colmenero were married, they graduated medical school and made their way to their honeymoon in Cancun!
