At 14 years old, Niko Schillaci and Taylor King met at a back to school night in high school. After knowing Taylor for only an hour, Niko asked her to go to the homecoming dance with him. The high school dance was the beginning of their high school sweetheart romance. Both at 22 years of age, Taylor attended UT to study interior design while Niko left for New York to attend West Point Military Academy to study mechanical engineering. While dating, the couple enjoyed spending many weekends with each other exploring Austin and New York. Some of the best times Taylor and Niko can remember are the various balls at West Point each year. 

Dating for more than six years Niko planned a romantic proposal. He had Taylor’s best friend Sarah travel home with Taylor for a weekend to Taylor’s parents. The girls spent the day with Taylor’s sister-in-law, Catherine, getting their hair, makeup, and nails done as a girl’s day for the trial run for Catherine’s upcoming wedding.  Afterward, Niko took Taylor to a garden they had previously visited and washed Taylor’s feet as a pledge of his service to his future wife. Taylor, crying with joy, said yes as Sarah and a photographer popped out of nearby bushes.

Being apart for years, the newly engaged couple were thrilled to finally be in the same city. Engaged for fourteen months the couple had ample time in planning the perfect nuptials. Envisioning a romantic and classic evening, the future Mrs. Taylor Schillaci chose a natural color palette of soft blush with gold accents. Eight bridesmaids and seven groomsmen accompanied the bride and groom at The Grove outdoor ceremony site at Ma Maison. Over 250 guests attended the marriage of Taylor and Niko. The romantic evening was an enjoyable celebration for all in attendance. Signaling the end of the night, but the beginning of their marriage, Taylor and Niko strolled under the twinkling sparkler send off. 

Following their wedding, the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Schillaci attended Niko’s best man’s wedding in Florida where Niko was the best man. For the honeymoon, Taylor and Niko enjoyed the sunny beaches of Costa Rica.
