About the Bride

“Bride, Melissa, is a 28-year old volleyball coach, who loves to play in “old lady” volleyball tournaments, go on girls trips with Mamma Mudge, cheer on my “lady football” (aka reality TV) and workout!”

About the groom

“Groom, Terry, is a 29-year old industrial evaluation engineer, who while also finishing his degree in Nuclear Engineering finds any time he can to scuba dive, shoot at the range, work out and cheer on his Oregon Ducks and Boston Red Sox.”

how they met

“Terry and I met at a 2011 Granger Smith concert (Texas Country artist), in a Midland, Texas honky tonk. He asked me to dance, we two-stepped all night, and we’ve been dancing ever since!”

how he proposed!

“He and my mom created an entire weekend to make me think that on Sunday we would all be going to a belated Mothers’ Day brunch at Z Tejas. They even spoiled me and got my nails and hair done for a “Mother’s Day gift”, never even putting two and two together that I had laughingly asked Terry to make sure my nails were done when he was going to propose. I had also thought it would just be us, but when I walked onto the patio all of my close family members were all there and IMMEDIATELY started crying because I was so happy that my family surprised me. I STILL had no idea it was a proposal, just thought about what an amazing “Mother’s Day” surprise this was, once again not thinking that I had wanted my family to be there to share in my special proposal day. When we walked in, I just wanted to hug everyone and say hello, but he took my hand to lead me away from them and THEN I saw him pull the box out of his pocket and of course started to shake and cry even more. He led me out onto the deck that overlooks the 360 bridge and it was absolutely beautiful. I honestly don’t remember a word he said, and he’s told me he slaved over every word (poor guy)! When he finally asked I was still full of elated tears and sobbed out “Yes!”, but apparently not loud enough for my audience, because my mom yelled “WHAT DID YOU SAY?! WE COULDN’T HEAR YOU!!” *insert entire family laughter* I will never forget that day for so many reason!”

We wish you all the best Mr. & Mrs. Rich! And thank you Lauren Moffett for providing us with these gorgeous photos!
