It’s All in the Wedding Details – Featuring Whitney & Sterling

Real Weddings

When you think of the words “wedding details” you may automatically think of things like bridal accessories, table numbers, or ceremony signage. While all of those tangible items are surely a way to bring some flair to your overall wedding day design, some of the details that matter most are the ones you can’t see or touch – they’re the sentimental feelings you experience in a moment in time. In today’s post, we’ll be highlighting some of the wedding details that are carefully curated design elements as well as the opportunities, the moments, you’ll want to be sure to focus on.

First, we’ll cover some day-of products that are sure to elevate your overall event and wow your guests. These could be items that are used before the ceremomy even begins up to how you’ll make your exit at the end of the night! Everything inbetween should reflect your personal style – after all, it’s all in the wedding details!

While you’re busy having the time of your life with your wedding party getting all dolled up, your photographer is busy photographing the personal and flatlay details. Items to consider having ready for them to use would be your jewelry, perfume, shoes, veil, invitation suite, rings, customized hanger, and personalized heirlooms (don’t forget the groom’s items, too!). You likely put some careful thought into intentionally selecting each of these items. Your photographer will do a wonderful job of capturing them together in a beautifully aesthetic way so you can cherish these in photo form for years to come.

For your ceremony, your vows and first kiss will certainly be the highlight, but there are several ways to personalize the space. Consider the altar where you’ll say, “I do” – do you want a backdrop, showstopping florals, lanterns or decor? You can keep this super minimal or go all out. Another way to add some detail is through signage. You could have a welcome sign or even a sign you will use during your ceremony. Keep things cohesive by using the same fonts and colors you have previously used in your invitation suite and other signage.

Add some pizzaz to the bar! Custom bar menus and koozies are always a crowd favorite. This is also a great place to add your pet, if you wish. We are loving the peek-a-boo pet watercolored onto this bar menu!

Do you have loved ones who aren’t at your event but are there in spirit? Having a memory table or display is such a sentimental way to honor those who have passed, and other family members are always so appreciative of the gesture.

Inside your reception space, the sky is the limit on how you can bring your wedding details come to life! On the guest tables, you can add customized goods such as menus, table numbers, and escort cards. The customized signage doens’t have to stop there, though! Consider a seating chart display that matches the other signage you have displayed throughout the venue. Another great way to enhance the space is with textures and colors in your linens and flowers. Want an unexpected wow factor that is a whole lot of fun? Whitney and Sterling had custom lit signs which really elevated this event!

The wedding may be coming to an end, but the wedding details don’t have to! The dance floor is an excellent place to upgrade the party. Glow sticks, LED foam wands, and pom poms are a few items you could consider for your guests to have a good time with. Lastly, as you exit your reception and make your getaway, have something fun for your guests to line up and hold – this also makes for incredible photos! Some examples are sparklers, bubbles, streamers, pom poms, confetti, you name it – just be sure your venue is okay with it!

We’ve gone through all of the tangible wedding details you can add to your event, but what about the special moments you should keep in mind? We’ve got a few ideas to consider when floating around on your wedding day. Before the ceremony, you may decide to share some intimate moments together. This could be in the form of a first look for first touch. During these moments, many couples exchange gifts, letters, or share an encouraging word or prayer. The beauty of it all is that your photographer will capture every sweet moment!

Remember to have FUN and enjoy the day with your wedding party! These are the people who you truly value and love, it was a big decision to include them in your day. If you want to take some more serious photos, go for it; if being silly and outlandish is more your vibe, do that! Either way, enjoy their company, this will be the only time in your life all of them are together in one place!
