When asking these two love birds where they first met, the one word that jumps out is, “Baylor!” Although Micah didn’t attend the school, the two ended up meeting through a mutual friend when Micah came to visit to celebrate his best friend’s birthday.  The weekend that Micah came to visit, the two played it pretty cool, but Holly had been swept off her feet when the friend group went two-stepping. Most Baylor students didn’t have the country backgrounds that Micah or Holly had, so they quickly learned that they loved to two-step. After Holly had gotten to know Micah that night, she was not going to let him out of her sights, plus no one else could dance as well as the pair of them could!

Fast forward seven years and the couple were engaged on November 7th, 2015! Micah proposed near Baylor campus on the Suspension Bridge, where they had spent many dates. Waco, Texas had a special place for Holly and Micah, so there was no better place for Micah to propose. Micah had arranged for Holly’s family and friends to hid in the bushes to be in on the surprise. After Micah had popped the questions and Holly said, “YES!” the gang came out of the bushes to share some champagne and take a few pictures with the newly engaged couple.

Ten months after the engagement, the wedding day was here. Envisioning a whimsical and bohemian look, bright whites and light pinks mixed with gold accents were chosen by the bride and groom to complete this classic look.

150 of Holly and Micah’s friends and family gathered at The Grove ceremony site at Ma Maison on September 4th, 2016. After the eight groomsmen and bridesmaids walked down the aisle, the Grove doors closed and reopened for Holly for a grand reveal.  During the ceremony, the two lit a unity candle.

Following the ceremony, guests walked to the Trellis for cocktail hour to sip on a few cocktails before going inside for the reception in the Great Hall. After a delicious dinner, the party began when the Austin Party Band rocked the house!

After the cake cutting and dancing, the wedding day had come to an end. Guests lit their sparklers for the exit, and the new Mr. and Mrs. Holly and Micah Haile walked through. The newly married bride and groom got into Holly’s dad’s vintage Bronco and drove off in the getaway car.

Not wasting any time to visit paradise, Holly and Micah left right after their wedding to Cocobay Resort in Antigua for their honeymoon.

Holly had this advice to offer couples starting the wedding planning process, “Book the big stuff first, and especially the hotel block if you do a fall wedding at Ma Maison. UT football will take over the best hotels!”
