Ways to Entertain Children at Your Wedding
Many brides have passed through Ma Maison’s doors, and we want to be able to share all the advice they thought would be the most helpful to couples planning their wedding. To guest lists to staying organized, these brides offer a little insight into what to expect while planning your dream wedding.
Kym Hare, who got married with us on April 8th of this year offered this advice, “Be prepared for frustration that comes with the guest list, but don’t let it turn into stress. Why stress about the best thing that will happen in life? It’s difficult to stay within a certain headcount, but look at it like, ‘Hey, all of these people love my fiancé and I so much that they want to be a part of our special day!’ What an honor?!”
Ma Maison bride Victoria Colmenero said, “Take on one thing at a time- try not to get overwhelmed. Evan was a great partner and really enjoyed helping plan the wedding and make decisions. I appreciated it! It was nice knowing that he was interested and involved.”
Staying organized was Kristy Cline’s secret weapon when wedding planning. This is what advice Kristy wished she would have had, “There is NO such thing as too organized. Wedding planning is more work than you can possibly imagine, and not always as fun as one would think either. And stick together! There are many stressful days ahead, take time to let yourself be excited about your marriage, not just stressed about your wedding.”
While planning her wedding, Courtney Bobalik found that there were some conflicting views, “My advice to newly engaged couples is to go into wedding planning knowing that not everyone is going to agree with you. It’s very important to not get lost in all of the opinions of others because the opinion of you and your fiancé is the most important thing; after all it is YOUR big day! Wedding planning can be very fun and exciting, but it can also be very stressful. The best way I dealt with stressful situations is having an AH-MAZING FIANCE that was always there to help me make any kind of decision!”
Similar to bride Courtney Bobalik, past Ma Maison bride Roslyn Edmondson found that many of those closest to her had ideas about what she should be doing for her wedding. Roslyn’s advice to brides and grooms planning their wedding, “Don’t allow all the opinions (including this one) and the options overwhelm you. Create your high level vision first, and then figure out who your best partners will be in making the vision come to fruition (within your budget). It is just one day, so give some thought to what a reasonable budget looks like for your situation. Oh, and stay organized….for your sanity.”
To future planning brides, Courtni Baxter gave this advice for uninterested fiancés, “Try and include your fiancé if he/she is not helping plan it, especially on the things like, who would he/she like to say the prayer, which engagement photo would he/she like displayed. Take a deep breath and enjoy. I planned the wedding with my mom, and it was special for her and I.”
