Some brides have dreamed about planning their weddings since they were young. Other brides may not put as much thought into their wedding plans as others, and a few couples may think that a big party is not their style. For the last type of engaged couple, there is always the option to elope.

Elopement can be defined as “an act or instance of running off secretly, as to be married.”  Elopements, unfortunately, have the connotation of two people flying to Las Vegas and running to the Little White Chapel for a quick marriage, especially as a secret or surprise. The associations of elopements being secret, very intimate, only bride and groom, weddings have been broken over recent years. Multiple celebrities have chosen elopements for privacy. In the case with blended families, elopements are common to share the moment with just immediate family. Keep in mind, when thinking about eloping, not everyone will be pleased. However, couples’  need to do what makes you the happiest.

That is precisely what past-eloped couple Stacy and Mark did! The engaged couple shared the special day with their five children from prior marriages. When Mark and Stacy reached out to Ma Maison, they were searching for a location to accommodate their private event.

On Sunday, April 10th Stacy and the three girls got dressed and ready. Stacy was wearing a short white wedding dress while the girls wore purple dresses with white sashes. The boys wore matching purple shirts with gray vests and purple striped ties.

The Green Cathedral was where the couple said their “I Dos” to one another with only their children, the officiant, and photographer to witness. The ceremony was followed by a small celebration of cake in the Bridal Garden. Bouquets and boutonnieres were fashioned out of various shades of purple paper into unique purple rose arrangements.

Elopements are a unique and extraordinary event. Ma Maison was honored to host the elopement of Stacy and Mark earlier this past spring. Are you thinking of eloping? We have a deal for you!
