Ma Maison was created with the intention of providing couples with an elegant wedding and event venue to host their most important celebrations. After many years of professional event planning in Texas, we saw the need for a place like Ma Maison: a venue where couples could effortlessly entertain their guests, yet still feel like they had been transported to another world.

As soon as you walk through our doors, you’ll notice how every aspect of the property is intentionally designed to make your big day a smashing success. From the versatility of the facilities, to the flawless design and flow of the property, we’ve created an event venue that truly meets the needs of our hosts and their guests.
Karen had been planning and coordinating weddings for many years, when she noticed a lack of style and sufficient space in the venues available in the Austin area. Many of her clients were telling her the same thing: “We want a beautiful Texas Hill Country wedding venue that is rustic—but not rusty.” Clients were also looking for a space that could hold more than 200 guests, and that had a rain plan that wouldn’t disrupt the flow of the wedding. When the search ended, Karen was unable to find such a venue in the Austin area. Instead, she took it upon herself to fill the void she saw. With the encouragement of her friends, who promised that if she built it, they would come, Karen set to work building the property. Ma Maison is a dream wedding venue come to life, and Karen’s vision of an elegant Hill Country venue that feels just like home to her clients is finally a reality. When not doing all things weddings, Karen enjoys spending precious time with her husband and their doodles, Gracie & Elli.
Melanie // Site Manager
Melanie’s love of weddings started in elementary school with a picture of a wedding dress in a JCPenney catalog; it has only grown since then! Melanie loves the emotions that weddings bring out in people: the joy, happiness, pride—and sometimes the crazy. Working in the wedding industry for over ten years, Melanie has worked with florists, planners, bakers, rental companies, and high-end resorts and venues. In addition to serving as Ma Maison’s site manager, Melanie is also a coordinator for Something to Celebrate, an Austin-based event planning company. Melanie knows how to handle any unexpected event that can occur on your wedding day, so you can enjoy your special day with friends and family. Melanie’s spare time is spent with her husband, Ian, and their two children, Logan and Amelia. They love to bake, cook, read, exercise, shop, and play together in their adopted home of Austin!
Michelle moved to the Austin area in 2014. Upon her arrival, she accepted an assistant coordinator position with the wedding planning company Tracy Collins Events (formally Events by Decisions), where she gained extensive knowledge about the wedding industry. Her education in family and child development also gives her insight into the relational and family dynamics that affect wedding planning. Being of French heritage herself, Michelle was drawn to Ma Maison’s French inspiration, and she now serves as the site manager for the property. On Michelle’s off days she likes to adventure outdoors to hike and kayak in her personal kayak.
